Drama Workshop

For Young People and Community Groups

THOMAS works with people who are recovering from addiction offering an approach that specialises in developing people beyond drug and alcohol treatment. The THOMAS approach helps individuals become the true creative force in their lives, overcoming in the process any obstacles that might stand between their past, where they are and where they want to be.

The people who run the Drama Workshops are passionate about sharing their experiences as a means of dissuading irresponsible use of drugs and alcohol and educating about the dangers of drug and alcohol use.

THOMAS has used Drama Workshops for a number of years as a powerful means of educating and informing young people about drugs and alcohol use.

The group provides Drama Workshops that are based on real life stories in short scenes – including scenes from school days, hanging out with friends, nightclubs, and prison.  The scenes show how the slide into addiction can happen and how recovery can happen. There is no swearing within the drama. Discussion is encouraged at the end of the workshops.

The Format takes about one hour which includes:

·   5 to 10 minutes introduction to THOMAS and the workshop

·   25 to 30 minutes drama

·   15 to 20 minutes question and answer and feedback

The THOMAS Drama Workshops welcome opportunities to work with Schools, Colleges, the Youth Service and Community Groups. THOMAS is experienced in working with a range of young people.
