St. Anne's House - Floating Support

The T.H.O.M.A.S. Floating Support office is situated on France Street in the heart of town and easily accessible to our clients.  We have a team of five experienced, friendly, approachable staff, which are here to assist you in your needs. We offer you practical help and advice on a whole range of services.  You will be assigned your own personal Key Worker who will arrange to see you at regular times throughout the week, though you can approach any member of staff with your queries or concerns at any time.

Together we will work out a support plan, with aims and objectives to work towards during your time with us.  Initially we can help with furnishing your property through help from the furniture store and applying for a community care grant, filling in benefit forms, budgeting advice and help with domestic skills.  We can put you in touch with other agencies that we work with which offer help with skills such as confidence building and also practical courses. Additionally, we work with agencies offering voluntary work to help you to fill your time and prepare yourself for returning to employment in the future.

We have support groups during the week, as well as varied opportunities to join other groups in pottery, fishing, walking etc.  We also provide a counselling service.

We have good links with other service providers that can help you to search for the type of employment that you want and help you to acquire the necessary skills.  It is our hope that we can help you to achieve your goals by helping you to gain the skills that you will need.  Our aim is to help you to live independently in the community and to maintain, or work towards, a drug/alcohol-free lifestyle.  Perhaps most importantly, we are here to talk to when you need us.

Often it helps just to know that you are not alone and that someone cares and is looking out for you.  You are free to call into the office at any time for a brew and a chat, don’t feel that you have to wait until your appointment time to see us.  If you need to talk about something or have any problems, queries or concerns please feel free to call into the office, we are always happy to see you.
